The Pledge for More Veg continues to gain momentum, with Western Australian Minister for Agriculture and Food, Hon. Jackie Jarvis MLC, officially signing the Pledge at the Perth Royal Show.
Joining the Plus One Serve and vegetablesWA teams at the Farm 2 Food Pavilion, Minister Jarvis reinforced her commitment to helping more Australians eat more vegetables while supporting Western Australia’s vegetable growers, strengthening our food system and improving national food security.
As a long-standing advocate for local agriculture, Minister Jarvis has championed initiatives including Buy West Eat Best and Plating Up WA, encouraging
Western Australians to choose fresh, local and seasonal produce. Her support for the Pledge for More Veg reflects a shared vision of creating healthier communities while backing the growers who produce Australia’s fresh vegetables.
A National Movement for Healthier Australians
The Pledge for More Veg brings together individuals, governments, schools, workplaces, retailers, growers, health organisations and community groups behind one simple but powerful goal: helping every Australian add one extra serve of vegetables each day by 2030.
Increasing vegetable consumption is about more than improving individual health. By eating more Australian-grown vegetables, we can strengthen demand across the supply chain, improve food security, support regional communities and create a more resilient vegetable industry for the future.
Minister Jarvis’ pledge demonstrates the important role governments can play in supporting initiatives that benefit both public health and Australian agriculture.
Showcasing Plus One Serve at the Perth Royal Show
Throughout the Perth Royal Show, visitors to the Farm 2 Food Pavilion had the opportunity to learn more about the national Plus One Serve movement and discover how small changes can make a meaningful difference.
The Plus One Serve and vegetablesWA teams invited visitors to take the Pledge for More Veg and explore how adding just one extra serve of vegetables each day can help people feel their best while supporting Australian growers and regional communities.
The Royal Show also provided the perfect opportunity to connect directly with consumers and celebrate the incredible diversity and quality of Australian vegetables.
A Sneak Peek at Get the Edge. Eat More Veg.
Visitors to the Farm 2 Food Pavilion also got an exclusive preview of Get the Edge. Eat More Veg., Plus One Serve’s new positive behaviour change campaign ahead of its national launch in February 2027.
Developed from extensive consumer research, the campaign recognises that while Australians understand the importance of healthy eating, busy lives often mean immediate, everyday benefits are a stronger motivator than long-term health outcomes.
The campaign highlights how eating more vegetables can help boost energy, improve mood, fuel focus, support gut health and contribute to healthy skin – showing Australians that vegetables can help them feel and perform at their best every day.
By connecting these immediate benefits with the broader impact of supporting Australian vegetable growers and strengthening our food system, Get the Edge. Eat More Veg. encourages more Australians to make vegetables a bigger part of everyday life.
