Plus One Serve is proud to announce that Jeremy Rockliff MP, Premier of Tasmania, has joined the growing list of signatories of the Pledge for More Veg – a significant moment that signals the power of government leadership in building a healthier food future for all Australians.
Premier Rockliff’s commitment reinforces Tasmania’s position at the forefront of healthy food policy. His endorsement adds important momentum to a national movement built on collaboration across government, industry, and community and sends a clear message that increasing vegetable consumption is not just a personal choice, but a shared responsibility.
This pledge reflects what’s already happening on the ground in Tasmania. The Tasmanian Government is actively supporting initiatives that are creating real, lasting change in the way people eat.
School Food Matters, in partnership with Loaves and Fishes Tasmania, serves around 21,500 healthy, cooked lunches every week across 60 public schools in Tasmania. The impact goes well beyond nutrition – a reliable, healthy lunch helps students concentrate, enjoy school more, and takes meaningful pressure off families navigating the cost of living. We are also proud to have Julie Dunbabin, Founder and Ambassador of the School Lunch Program in Tasmania sign the Pledge for More Veg.
Eat Well Tasmania plays a complementary role, working across sectors to encourage healthier eating habits throughout the state. By building strong partnerships within the food system, strengthening community capacity, supporting research, and advocating for better food environments, Eat Well Tasmania is helping to shift the conditions that shape what Tasmanians put on their plates.
Together, Plus One Serve and the Tasmanian Government are taking another meaningful step toward improving public health, supporting Australian growers, and ensuring a stronger, more resilient food future, not just for Tasmania, but for the whole country.
We’re proud to have Premier Rockliff’s support and look forward to the work ahead.
