Plus One Serve is proud to announce that Fresh Markets Australia (FMA) has become the latest signatory to the Pledge for More Veg – a milestone that marks an exciting new chapter in our mission to get more Australians eating more vegetables, every day.
FMA is the national body representing the five Market Chambers across six locations throughout Australia, collectively supporting more than 430 fruit and vegetable wholesale businesses. Their reach across the supply chain – from growers to wholesalers to independent retailers – makes them a powerful voice for Australian fresh produce.
The five Market Chambers include Brismark (The Queensland Chamber of Fruit and Vegetable Industries), Fresh Mark NSW (The New South Wales Chamber of Fruit & Vegetable Industries), Fresh State Ltd (representing the Melbourne Market), Market West (The Chamber of Fruit & Vegetable Industries in WA), and the SA Chamber (The South Australian Chamber of Fruit & Vegetables).
This partnership reflects a shared commitment: making it easier for Australians to choose fresh, locally grown vegetables and to support the independent greengrocers and producers who bring that produce to their tables.
As part of our growing relationship with FMA, the Plus One Serve team recently had the privilege of touring the Melbourne Market Authority in Epping. The Melbourne Market serves as a critical link between growers, wholesalers, retailers and distributors and seeing that ecosystem in action was a powerful reminder of just how much work goes into getting fresh Australian vegetables onto our plates.
We’re excited about what this partnership means for the future. Together with FMA, we’ll be encouraging consumers to shop local, back independent retailers, and make fresh Australian-grown vegetables a bigger part of their everyday lives.
A heartfelt thank you to Nina Torkman (National Program Manager, FMA) and Brett Collins (CEO, FMA) for making this happen.
